You are tempted by rowing.
You have decided to take the plunge and join a club. However, you have many questions about our sport and how you will get to know it.
You can start rowing at any age. Clubs usually welcome children from the age of 11 (junior category). Adults often start rowing in the “leisure” section of clubs.
Most often, the first outings are in yachts with four rowers and a coxswain. These are stable learning boats, as they are quite large, but have the same facilities as competition boats. Having a coxswain frees the rowers from the management of their steering: they can concentrate more easily on the practice itself.
