A real balcony over the Lauragais plain, the exceptional setting of the Montagne Noire offers exceptional gliding opportunities 12 months a year. Our aerodrome, built at the top of the mountain, is the most atypical gliding ground in France, with its runways following the relief and classified as historical monuments in the same way as our hangars and the former canteen of the National Gliding Centre.
The association Vol à Voile Montagne Noire perpetuates the tradition of glider flying on this mythical site thanks to its volunteers who work to enhance the airfield. In addition to introductory flights and discovery courses (3 or 6 days), we offer training for the glider pilot’s licence and, of course, regular gliding practice and progression support (improvement and performance flights), all in the sumptuous setting of the Montagne Noire.
